Technically I’m not allowed to choose films to see at the cinema; I’m supposed to be under a three film ban because of the whole Beowulf/Golden Compass thing.
Fortunately, I laugh in the face of three film bans and tweak the nose of Stephen’s threat that, “if this film’s as shit as the other two, you’re never allowed to choose another. Ever. I’ll set you on fire, I swear to god.â€
As it is, Hancock’s a pretty decent film; with a nifty little twist and a cheesy ending that isn’t quite cheesy enough to spoil the rest of it, instead feeling like a tacked-on for the sake of Hollywood scene. More to the point though, it’s fun, a bit of a laugh, and Stephen’s yet to set me on fire which I think means that I’m finally doing something right.
